I send Crab soup to my son & his family. I make it once a year, freeze it and they get 10 containers to last them for 10 months of the year. I bought some rather expensive heavy large containers for this. My daughter in law stacked them one inside of the other, and I cannot get 2 of them apart. I have tried everything. Running hot water over the bottom one and putting ice in the inside one. That works for glass. but it isn't working on the plastic. I have tried inserting a knife as far down as it will reach, but that is not all the way down, in an atempt to get air in between them, and that hasn't worked. Does anyone have another suggestion? As it is, if I can't get them apart, I will be losing 4 containers. Hope soomeone can help. Thanks

if you can push the top container in to make a gap...

between 2 sides, pour some dish detergent in. repeat for all 4 sides.

use your knife to spread the soap around.

look for a longer knife also.

I laughed when I read your suggestion to use a longer knife. It was so obvious, that I overlooked the simple way to try. I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks

Sandy, what kind of plastic is it? Is it like a slightly flexible, opaque white one?

I had a Tupperware Modular Mates container that had a stiff, too tight lid. I had asked the Tupperware consultant to replace it, but she said it was just stiff because it was new.

She suggested putting the whole container, lid and all, into the back seat of my car, and to park the car in the sun. The plastic would soften enough so that the lid would mold better to the bottom.

If your containers are that kind of flexible plastic, it's worth a shot!

(I didn't actually put mine in the car, I just soaked the lid in very hot water, and it was good after that!)

Good luck!
