I need recommendations for Sauvignon Blanc - preferably under $20. Thanks!

Do try Giesen (from New Zealand) or Carmenet (California)...I've had

both and they are very good, especially the Giesen. Sauv Blancs are my favorite white wine right now! You might not be able to find these labels, though; not everyone can find every wine, I've discovered from other food/wine boards. Oh,another good one is Monkey Bay (Australia).

The SBs from Chile are delicious and also

South Africa and Australia. I'll try to come up with a name. Do you have a Total Wine in Greensboro? Good place to look. Otherwise go to your largest Harris Teeter and ask for the wine person. They are very good here.
Do you want it very fruity or more "green"?

Don't laugh at this one..... but Publix has been having promotions,

on & off for the past couple of months.. on Barefoot.... from California.... Sauvignon Blanc..has all kinds of award stickers posted on the bottle... 2 for $10.... would you belive???
I tried 2 the first time I saw them, and they are great! Been buying them ever since. Ya can't beat $5 a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would agree with you...the Giesen goes for $10.99 at ABC Liquors and Carmenet for $5.99 also

at ABC Liquors, only place I can find them in Florida...the Monkey Bay sells for $8.99 at Publix. Reds are my preference and am loving Pinot Noirs right now but when I feel like having white wine or am cooking with it, I go for the SB.

Pinots you really have to pay a bit more for, I think.

Just got one from Costco that we may open tonight and I'll report on.

New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Personal favorite in the lower priced range is Brancott (Montana) from New Zealand. There's a Reserve and a non-reserve Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc - both are very good and well within your price range according to wine-searcher.com. I'd go with the Reserve as it's that much better than it's little sister. Cheers, Bonnie

I just remembered my favorite SB--Sancerre.

Total Wine sells a nice one that has "salmon" in the name. Delicious wine.
Covey Run is a nice one--inexpensive.
