to eat and shop in Boston, I would really appreciate it. My stepdaughter is there for the day and wants some recommendations, and I forgot to ask. Thanks!

Not sure how old she is but DD loved the stuff around Fenuil Hall

when she was up there year before last. Urban Outfitters and all kinds of shops. There are all kinds of fun places to eat there also with one of our favorites being Wagamama's that we fell in love with in London years ago. Fun place, moderate prices.

While she was at her camp we stayed with relatives who took us into Boston and their favorite place that is reasonable is Giacamo's in the North End but be prepared if you aren't there early, lines can be REALLY bad but it's good enough they wait. They also liked Limoncello but it too had a wait (DH doesn't do long waits) so we wound up at Trattoria Monica and it was very good and reasonable - I think the entrees were $15-25. Mike's Pastries - have to stand in line and get a lobster tail pastry there! But we also liked Bova's Bakery on the corner near Monica's.

I would go to Legal seafoods. They have several places in the city - one at Copley, one near MIT..

and several others. A bowl of clam chowder is heaven.
Also the Fenuil Hall is an experience - lots of tasty foods around.
The original Filene's came from Boston but I don't think it is still around.

Hi Dawn, Here are some ideas

Boston north end
Italian restaurants and pizzerias:

Prezza, 24 Fleet St (617) 227-1577
Mamma Maria,
Pizzeria Regina,-Fabulous Pizza!!
Galleria Umberto,
Giacomo's,
**Antico Forno, 93 Salem St
Maurizio's,
Marco,
**Taranta, 210 Hanover St 617) 720-0052
Daily Catch,
Pagliuca's.

Also in the North end-Pastries at "Mike's pastry" 300 Hanover St, this is the fun one for sitting and people watching. But I think the best pastries are at "Modern Pastry" down the street at 257 Hanover.

For something fun, go to Chinatown, we like to stop at Eldo bakery (it's on Harrison Street), ask for the "Dahn Taht", they'll bring them out from behind the counter, still warm. They're a little 2 bite egg custard tart with a flaky crust.
Chinese restaurant-"Peach Farm"-is highly recommended (4 Tyler Street)

For fabulous lobster rolls and oysters and stuff like that, I HIGHLY recommend "B and G oysters" 550 Tremont.

Thanks everyone, I will pass this info on to my stepdaughter.

She will be making several trips there over the next few months so this is exactly what she will need. Thanks!

Oh yes, and their Boston Cream Pie is to die for!! Nice chain, and a good place to stop if

you are flying in to Reagan National Airport.

MCM...thanks for the recommendation of Wagamama's. That is where

they ended up eating, and as a thank you gift for watching all of the kids, they brought me back the Wagamama's cookbook! I am so excited to take a look through it and make some recipes. They loved it and said when they walked in that they knew that I would love it too. Thanks again.
I am bookmarking all of the recommendations because she will be going back again a few more times. Thanks everyone!
