it was very tall and had a thick layer of what appeared to be a custard topped with a thick layer of very thinly sliced apples. I did not have any but would love to know what it is so I can try to make it (as soon as work eases up a bit....) Do you know what this pie might be called?

Barbara, It could be an Apple Custard Pie, and Apple Buttermilk Pie or possibly an Apple Sour Cream
