supremely disgusted yet again by the continued mass downgrading of culture and taste in this country:

In the ever growing trend to turn purveyors of news into infotainment outlets, The Cincinnati Enquirer (sic) has ordained the people's choice for THE best "Reader's Choice!" restaurants in a city filled with thousands of independent restaurants.

The riff-raff chose the national surburban chains.

Quell surprise!

Call me an elitist food snob.

Reminds me of an article where they interviewed the mayor of Cleveland

re his push to restore local food/independent restaurants featuring all kinds of ethnic cuisine.
He said when he read the reader poll that named PF Chang as the best Chinese food, that he was compelled to do something.
This was a long time ago, but every time I read one of the polls that have chains as faves, I can't help but think of him. smileys/smile.gif Maybe there's hope, one city at a time. smileys/smile.gif

I appreciate any "Best of..." that give a critic's choice and a people's choice.

So often the "people" choose national chains. So sad...
