For pitting the cherries using a paper clip, found it in archives, put in kitchen tips

Basically push in at the stem end and pull the pit out using the loop of the paperclip. Too easy!

 
Odd? a coworker turned vegan a year ago and just got food poisoning last week. She ate cherries.

That and a vegan "chicken salad"...both from Whole Foods. It's the first time in a year she has gotten food sick since switching diets.

By the way, she has also lost 40 pounds and been able to drop her blood pressure and cholesterol medication. She calls herself a "flexitarian"....when only meat is available (most of her family get-togethers), she'll eat a small amount, but aims for vegan 90% of the time.

 
Oui, les cerises. In Switzerland 45 years ago so supposedly low on additional

nasties. The head waiter was passing them to me from an upstairs restaurant window. We were both naughty. I was sick all over the hallway, all night long and the next day. My poor roommate had to clean up the hallway for me.

But I'm loving cherries right now. Admittedly, I automatically have a limit of about 1.5 cups at a time. The memory doesn't fail.
