I think this is slightly illegal, isn't it? FRC False Advertising

I was out to lunch with a friend the other day and one of the menu entrees was a "Lobster Roll". My friend started talking to the waitress about something totally unrelated, and the subject of "fake" vs. real mashed potatoes came up, and then deli turkey vs. "roasted" turkey.

I ordered the lobster roll, and the waitress said "I have to warn you though, it isn't real lobster, it's pollack"! Hmm, shouldn't it say something like that on the menu (like it does on a package of "imitation crabmeat" at the grocery store)?! I'm glad I had an honest waitress, but I think the only reason it come up is because of what we had been talking about.

Illegal...don't know. Unethical...definitely. I find the same problem with "crab salad". I always

ask if it's real crab and most of the time it isn't!

Hi Cyn, funny you

were the first to respond... it was at TS and you have probably been there!

Ugh. You have to wonder what else they're not being entirely forthcoming about in the kitchen...
