I thought all of you would think this is funny. I was calling in lunch today to a small

melissa-dallas

Well-known member
South American cafe/bakery. They have two kinds of empanadas, so I asked the difference between the Colombian and the Venezuelan. She didn't speak very much English and told me that "one is wheat and one is just flour". (???). I think one is like a pastry crust and one is raised dough, but I'm still not sure...

The Colombian which were wheat flour with achiote. On researching the Venezuelan ones

are made from corn dough. They were pretty good but not really my cup of tea.
