I want to make sure I understand the "rules" for posting recipes in the T&T section.

I know that 3 people must recommend a recipe for it to qualify for the HOF but is that the same for the Diet Section? The diet section is woefully slim in recipes. I have been searching for low fat/low sodium ideas and that was the first place I looked. Since that time I have found or created some pretty good recipes and wanted to know if they must be recommended by 3 or more as the other section requires. I don't think they do as Mimi wrote at the top of the section "Post recipes that are Tried & True by you" so I don't think they have to be recommended. Am I right?

REC: Low Fat Ranch Dressing...I love ranch dressing and because of the

high sodium in the ranch dressing packet I needed to make my own. I started with a recipe from All Recipes and adapted it to cut down the calories and sodium. This is what I ended up with and it is really great!

Ranch Dressing

Serving Size : 16

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 cup low fat yogurt
1/2 cup lowfat mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon chives, freeze-dried
1/2 teaspoon parsley, freeze-dried
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

REC: Low Sodium Applesauce...Here's a nice way to make a bowl of oatmeal

made with no salt taste good.

Three Apple Quick Sauce

Quick, and light on the sugar, this sauce can be whipped up in a hurry for adding to recipes calling for homemade applesauce. Especially tasty on its own, too!

Makes 2 Cups

Ingredients
1/2 cup sodium free water
3 medium, ripe, apples
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
spritz lemon juice

Directions
Clean apples, slice in half and core. Cut apples into slices or chunks and place into a medium size stovetop pan. Add water. Bring to rapid boil and boil for 4 minutes while stirring constantly.

Reduce heat to medium and stir frequently while apples continue to cook. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.

Add in the sugar and cinnamon, stir for another minute. Cool in pan. Serve hot, warm or use in recipes calling for applesauce.
Add a dash of lemon juice to the mix if you won't be using sauce right away.

To the best of my knowledge, the WOE forum is separate from T&T???

I have a lot of healthy recipes, but to me they are too hard to post? Some fit in every catagory? I would like to have seen it be one forum, and in the Subject line:show, low cal, or low carb, low fat, or heart healthy (which is often all of the above),or diabetic?? or LS?

Could read like this: HH,LF,LC,LCAR, Roughy with Feta Sauce.
Your Ranch Dressing would be-- HH,LF,LC,LS, Ranch Dressing.
Or as above--HH would cover it as we all could get familiar with the parameters?
I have had several friends who needed to lose weight, take it off while cooking for diabetic housemates and eating along with them?

I don't want to rustle any feathers here, I suggested this in the beginning, but everyone seems to want divided topics. But to me I never know where to post, guess I could post in everyone?
Would love to see your recipes. These look great!
Nan

It is separate and you can post there without "recommendations"

As for recipes that fit in more than one category (ie it is BOTH low carb and low fat), then I think you can post it twice if you want. The abbreviations are good too, the only thing I'd say is that if someone is specifically looking for "low fat" recipes they are not likely to go browsing in the "low carb" section to see what's there.

Thanks Nan and Mimi. I don't really know enough about diet foods to figure out

where to put them so I'll just leave them here.
