I was asked to bake cupcakes for a Susan B Anthony event

Make Xerox reproductions of the image of the Susan B Anthony coin

and put one on each cupcake (using a toothpick; see link) with this amazing quote printed and displayed behind the display.

"Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world's estimation, and publicly and privately, in season and out, avow their sympathy with despised and persecuted ideas and their advocates, and bear the consequences."
Susan B. Anthony, 1860

You go, girl!!

Marilyn

Like to try to mold them out of chocolate by getting a Susan B Anthony coin and pressing them into chocolate, then cutting them out, then asking my self why I did such a crazy idea, and then paint them with edible gold. Because then everything is edible and it’s zero waste. But 99% chance it’s not gonna come out the way I want it, and I always end up doing things that take too long and regretting it the whole time, so don’t listen to me, LOL.

Brought to you by the woman that is considering making a chocolate logo for my simple Super Bowl dessert of banana pudding. Because you know, that will take at least twice as long as just making the dessert.

Edible icing logos?

I recently made 200 odd cupcakes for a corporate function and had the intricate logo printed onto edible icing sheets and just peeled them off - I had this done at a local cake decorating store that has the special printer - they can do black & white or color, taken from a jpeg you give them. Mine were red/white/black and looked very cool!

First I cut out some gum paste discs the same size as the icing decal, then I 'glued' the decals on with a teeny tiny brush of water, let them dry overnight and then I placed the discs on the cupcakes that were swirled with buttercream. The extra step of the gum paste discs kept the colors from running with the moisture of the buttercream...
