I was just diagnosed with bleeding ulcers. Any help out there?

That's terrible. What caused them--that's the question. It could be a bacteria

or it could be an irritation from medications. Need to find out and get them healed. Good luck

I had one two years ago. Did they give you a food list of do's and dont's? Took

six weeks to heal but once you start on meds the pain goes away.

Yes, please make sure your doctor checks for Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori). . .

as this bacteria is not uncommon with stomach ulcers/bleeding.

If you search "Helicobacter Pylori" you will come up with a lot of information.

I hope you get better soon!

My 34-year-old niece was on the verge of an ulcer, but she had a good doctor who

checked and double checked and asked questions galore. He finally figured out the child didn't realize that when a person takes Ibuprofin or the like, those pills ALWAYS need to be accompanied by food or at the very least a glass of milk in order to coat the stomach. Once the MD zero'ed in on that tidbit of info to determine the reason, he gave her some medicine to heal her stomach lining and dull her pain, and she's been fine ever since.

Best of luck resolving your situation, Dawn_MO!

I was diagnosed with a-fib. The cardiologist prescribled

Elliquis for it. Within two weeks I was having horrible nose bleeds and the bleeding ulcers. I was in the hospital for four days and have been told to stay off any meds for the a-fib for at least 4 weeks. I will go back in for more testing in about 4 weeks to see how they are healing. No spicy foods for me. Acckkkkkkkkkkkkk! I had amazing care while I stayed in the hospital. I keep dialing the cafeteria number, but no one brings me my cottage cheese fruit plate. smileys/smile.gif

That;s too bad--and is a bad side effect. you may have to do warfarin. Dh has

done the latter for probably 25 years and just switched to Eliquis. Eliuis is apparently better for keeping the level level. Did the doc suggest that you eat before taking it, etc.
