I was taken to a great restaurant on Longboat Key called Euphemia Haye for my birthday...

this past weekend. I had the chef's special of veal scaloppini with fresh baby artichokes, shallots and wild mushrooms in a brandy sauce.

The mushrooms were shitake and oyster. This got me to thinking: Are they still "wild" mushrooms when you can purchase them at Publix and even Walmart?

Be sure to go upstairs and have dessert in the Loft.

This restaurant reminds me of a bunch of little places in Bucks County (I used to live in Chalfont and then Lansdale) where an old farm house was converted into an intimate dining establishment. Washington House in Perkasie comes to mind.

The one on MacDill?? I'll have to IM my friend at the Boys * Girls Clubs just down the road.

Thanks, Everyone! I really don't mind birthdays...with the alternative you don't get to eat.

and if you want the BEST salmon in the world, if it is still on the menu, Salmon and their
