I'd lke to know if anyone has had hard drive problems with Dell computers, what is your experience?

My husband knows a lot about computers and yet he is so frustrated right now. We've had our Dell laptops for 3 years, they've been great. All of a sudden my computer goes through 3 hard drives in VERY short order and then completely dies.

So he downloaded all the stuff off my computer onto his computer and let me use it for 2 wks. Then he got me a new computer, transferred all the stuff off his computer onto my new computer.

Then when he went to start using his computer again, it wouldn't work. So he took the newest hard drive that wouldn't work in my first machine and put it in his machine and it still won't work.

Now we're thinking a 2nd new machine to buy.

Is this typical after 3 years? Does anyone have similar experiences or heard of others'?

i know that my last 2 companies have had all kinda trouble with

dell laptops and hard drives... all of these were in the dell Latitude D6xx (D600,d610, etc) series.
