Ideas for Angel Food Cake....

I will be making a boxed Angel Food Cake which will be offered as dessert after a light lunch. I want to frost it with something easy, thinking of Cool Whip. I will be placing a small vase in the center of the cake and putting in some fresh edible flowers for decoration and presentation only. I think after cutting the wedges, of serving it with slightly sweetened strawberries. Any ideas on what else I could frost it with? Also, can I add any type of berries, or lemon zest, or ? to the boxed mix without fear of failure? Ideas please......

They look great, for this luncheon I am going to use the one with fresh strawberries because they are in season now and so huge this year.

ISO: Gay R - I want to use Cool Whip with the Angel Cake with Fresh Strawberries

because of diet restrictions for our guests, I can by the fat free type which I think is great. Do you know if Cool Whip will stand up as a filling inside the cake?

 
Karen, You are most welcome! With regard to the Cool Whip I have never used the product so ....>

I have no experience with it. Perhaps you can check their website for an answer. Sorry.

 
The cool whip should be fine. The strawberry rhubarb combo this time of year would be so good.
