A good friend of mine, Mariella Balbi, lost her home and her business earlier this week, in the San Diego wildfires.

She worked next to me at the Farmer's Markets, and I watched her build her business from day one with a love and passion that you just don't see very often. Her chocolates are unlike any I have every tasted before. She takes such pride in her family, her business and her chocolates.

She and her family moved here from Peru and started all over. So I have seen her start with nothing and build it into a successful business.

She is with out a doubt, one of the nicest, most generous people I have ever had the pleasure to know. She would give you the shirt off her back, if you were in need.

If you have been asking yourself if there is something you could do to help out some of the victims of the Southern California wildfires, here is someone that deserves and needs it.

On her website she has listed her temporary address and her checking account number where donations may be sent. Thank you. Dawn

If you would like to read about Mariella and her wonderful chocolates, here is an article that was in the North County Times, a few years back.

You might have to click twice on the link I posted to come up with her website.

Thanks for the info, Dawn....at times like this, any help helps.

Besides, the world needs all the chocolate lovers it can get.

Check is going out to the mail. (I saw the bank transfer info, but I'm just mailing it to the temp address provided.

OMG! I know who she is. I have purchased her chocolates

several times at the farmers market. They are incredible. This breaks my heart. I will pass this along to my friends here so the word gets out.
