If you had to choose between getting a panini grill and a "seal-a-meal" which would you get?

Love my panini; do not have a seal thingy... When do you use them? Could you use tupperware?

I rec'd a package of wonderful nuts from a dear friend that were sealed... It was very special, but I could not see how else I would use it.... I would love to know when/how everyone uses it.

TIA,
Barb

vacuum sealer definitely, Barb, and there are lots of reasons..

You can take advantage of good sales to store meat, fish, etc. in freezer. You can package individually portioned meals such as lasagna from a large original recipe. Families on the go with lots of different schedules can pull a package and heat/serve as necessary. The vacuum sealer does a much better job of protecting the quality of your purchases from freezer burn.

Our sealer is under the sink, can't remember last time it was used. Panini is at least once a week.

Between chicken tenders, sandwiches, quesadillas, veggies, peppers, even peaches when they are in season.

And don't forget blocks of cheese. It will keep cheese as fresh as

when I got it many, many, many months later. Love mine.

While I use my griller a lot, a frying pan with a heavy tea kettle on top could do the same

job. I'd splurge for the sealer - it will pay for itself the first few times you don't see stale cheese or dried up meat in the bottom shelf of your refrigerator!

OMG, I use my Food Saver everyday, more than once...

I keep it just off the kitchen in my laundry room on the folding counter. We usually have a slice of cheese sometime during the day, and I reseal those packages. Do you know it also reseals bags of chips, rice, cereal, crackers, etc???
Great tool. When I get my raw shrimp home from Costco, I take it out of their bags and put into Food Saver bags....no more frosty, or freezer burned shrimp. I seal all our meats, cheeses, even some breads. You can control the amount of vacuming...I love it.

I don't ever make paninis but I use my food sealer to vac food for the freezer to save freezer

space as well as keep out the frosties.
