If you have a panini grill, what are you making in yours?

I got a new panini grill and I love it! We've been making sandwiches of all kinds, but I'm wondering what other non-sandwich things to make in it.

I tried baking a chocolate chip cookie in it, but that failed. My heat was too high, so the ridges just burned, while the middle remained uncooked.

I also tried grilling a cold, leftover slice of pound cake. That was fab - it got kind crunchy on the outside, just like you'd get when you first it out of the oven.

I tried making a sunny side up egg - made a little round of foil, with the egdes curled up, poured a little bit of oil into my makeshift pan, them cracked the egg into it and panini'd. That worked well, but I'm trying to make a breakfast sandwich, and cooking each component (egg, then meat of some kind, then the whole sandwich) takes more time than I'd like.

I've done pizza in the panini before, the crust gets kinda crunchy, but we like it like that.

What else are you grilling in yours?

Chicken, steak, veggies, oh, and even sandwiches

We love ours, especially in the summer when we don't want to heat up the kitchen. Our favorite is chicken breasts fillets and they are perfectly done in less than two minutes. Summer squash, sliced about 1/4" thick, is awesome. Shrimp on skewers is nice I'm told by hubby (I don't like shrimp). My son is the quesidilla king. Ohhh, almost forgot, we've done tuna steaks and burgers, too.

Does the Geo. Foreman Grill work as well? It seems to squash the

sandwiches a bit - or is it supposed to?

Bacon. We LOVE making bacon with it!

The pieces come out so straight and all the bacon drips out so nicely (which we save to cook with later). Kinda a pain to clean afterwards but that's my DH's job:)

Sandy, I have a stove top panini grill, and my son uses it constantly, I grill everything from

sandwiches to vegetables, and meats. I love it. Don't know how I ever cooked with out it. And so quick and easy to clean and store.

I had 2 George Forman grills (one large and one small) and had to beg people to please take it, they are horrifying to clean and it dries the food out.

The picture I attached is EXACTLY the one I have, I bought it at Kohl's but it can be purchased at Amazon.com and I will provide the link

I can remember seeing a "consumer corner" on the GF grills when they first came out

It was Hour Magazine or that type of show. This was when the commercials for the GF had the home cook pour the "fat" out of the little tray into a measuring cup to see just how much "fat" was she was saved from by using the GF. Turned out that only a small amount of that liquid was fat, most of it was the natural juices of the meat. Shortly after that they stopped promoting that cup of "fat".
