I'll be spending a few days in NYC with my sister and her son in 2 weeks' time..

She has booked us for a Local Flavors of Brooklyn tasting tour, which I'm excited about.

Do you have any suggestions for places where a 15 year-old boy would like to eat, that his ancient older aunt would also enjoy?

We used to live near NYC and I was quite a good tour guide for our visitors, so I need to brush up on the City, as she expects me to do the same for her. Such fun! I love the place. My SIL was here last night, and her sister was in the City last week, and complained about how old and icky it was. ?????

Maybe 2nd Ave. Deli for the 15-year-old? (And other thoughts...)

Or Frankie's Spuntino (if it's not on the Taste of Brooklyn tour, which it might be). Or, if you really want to win the cool aunt of the year award, the Brooklyn Flea Market hosts Smorgasburg every weekend (see link). Or, the Smoke jazz club (106th and Broadway) is good--not a bad seat in the house, since it's so small: http://www.smokejazz.com/

There's also Eataly and the new food court in the Winter Garden at Battery Park City (tons of very good food, despite having the "food court" label), just off the top of my head. Let me know if you want more ideas. smileys/smile.gif Have fun! (Eataly will be mobbed, though, at almost any time of day.) Chelsea Market--also nice, but the same caveat.
