I'm an appetizer person.

I think there should be restaurants devoted entirely to appetizers or at least to half-portions of whatever they serve. When I go to a really good restaurant I want a taste of everything 'cos it all sounds so good, but it's too expensive, so I'm going to a relatively inexpensive part of the country and a friend of mine and I are going to start up a business. I'm not joking here. Appetizers!

I love appetizers...

I think that is a great idea. I used to have an annual cookie exchange, and that was what I always served, appetizers, and lots of them. So much fun to make and eat. On Christmas eve, we used to go to my sister-in-laws, and that was what we did. We had all appetizers so that you could just sort of graze. It was great for the kids too, because there was always something they liked. I think I may do that this year for xmas eve.

clofthwld...find a Spanish restaurant that serves tapas! It's all little servings, just enough for

a few bites. We have none locally, but Orlando has a chain restaurant called "Cafe Tu Tu Tango" which serves "small dishes".

Vancouver had some of the freshest ideas we've ever tasted at Bin 942.

Love that concept!

Come on down to Charleston.

We have a couple of tapas bars. Four or five of us will go and each order 2 different ones and then share. It is really great fun. We also have some places that have "small plates" which is perfect for me.

and the Chinese do it with DimSum. I just love all those little plates of dumplings and whatever.

what are a few of your faves to make? you know, xmas parties coming up and all...i need inspiration!

Salmon Canapes, Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms, Blue Cheese Broiled Tomatoes, ...

Bruschetta with Roasted Peppers and Blue Cheese...
The first two are listed in T&T - the Blue Cheese Broiled Tomatoes aren't, but should be - I guess I should put them in there!

Edit: Okay - I just added them to T&T.

We have just such a restaurant in Redding. It is downtown, called

The Victorian, and serves appetizers, which they call "small bites" and offer an assortment of wines. People love it. The last time we were in town at night, we peeked in and the place was jumping. It caters to a younger crowd but there were a few elders in there too. We have not tried it yet.

I can never eat my entire dinner and it's so wasteful, 'cos nothing

ever tastes as good reheated. Small portions!!!

I went on a microbiotic diet once and I lived at this Japanese restaurant

that served miso and fresh fish and...it closed down about 6 months after it opened. I've never felt better in my life than those 6 months on that diet.
