Cherry Clafoutis

In a saute pan:

2 cups pitted cherries

1 T butter

2 T sugar

dash cinnamon

Cook until cherries are softened, ~ 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a bowl beat together:

3 eggs

pinch salt

1 T sour cream (I used vanilla yogurt this time)

1 t lemon zest

¾ c milk

¾ c flour

Pour into a buttered pan (or you can use two pans), top with cherries. Bake at 400 until puffed and golden brown, 25 – 30 minutes. Serve immediately dusted with powdered sugar.

Serves 2

I have made this many times in the past with apples which is terrific, but the cherries from the farmers market were so terrific.

I also took lots of pictures on the blog, plus excitement in the neighborhood with a big fire. I'm going back to bed now, too much excitement for me!

P.S. Send Kleenex

Get well soon! And, Holy Toledo, glad your building was not affected by the explosion/fire.

Hi Erin, I think I figured that out, please let me know if it doesn't work.

and I added a NFRC post too. For some unknown technical reason I can't get that to feed but it's up!

It appears the fire is out but the streets are still closed. Amazing... So glad I have power! What a Friday traffic nightmare, these are major intersections closed. Glad I'm staying home.

Thanks, I've got it--though it comes up in Google Reader as "(title unknown)"... Just fyi. smileys/smile.gif

Update - NFRC

The street below me was closed all night and until 1pm today because of the fire. It was electrical wiring that caught fire and they had a hard time putting it out yesterday, it burned for over 2 hours. They still don't know why! Over 8500 people were without power. It certainly was a sight, I must say. I'm so glad that it wasn't on my block and that we kept power, and that no one was hurt. It's rather creepy to know that this is the 3rd vault fire we have had in recent years, it's sort of feels like the infrastructure here is unstable.

The learning curve is so much fun, isn't it. Hang in there. I, for one, am happy there's a place

where your writing is getting out there. You are a GEM! (Not sure why I'm writing in call caps lately, but in this case, it applies!) smileys/smile.gif
