I'm confused. Just tasted "Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Potato Chips" and they are..sweet?

Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper version, just to be clear. Not sweet potato chips.

I looked at the nutritional information first and there are ZERO grams of Sugar.

Then I looked at the ingredients and after the eponymous potato then canola oil came corn syrup. Is that sweet? And then SUGAR was listed right AFTER salt but BEFORE cracked pepper.

I've got my sweet and I've got my salty and I just don't want them in bed together.

They use that sweet stuff to bring up flavor and to make the flavor stick . . . yech. . .

I think they sneak more "sweet" stuff like maltodextrin and such under "carbohydrates" on the nutrition label. blargh!

You made me get up and look and of course I had to have a few..

I eat them and didn't think they were sweet at all but I had to go double check myself. I have the reduced fat plain ones (just because Costco carries the reduced fat and you can't tell the difference). Potatoes, oil, salt.
