I'm getting the send a card to "A Recovering American Soldier" at Walter Reed email...

Search engines are so great these days. I usually start there first then ask around if unable to

find the answer I'm seeking for just about any topic.

 
Not sure it's a hoax so much as a "thoughtful idea" that can't be implemented.

Everyone sends everyone an email asking them to send a card to Walter Reed. But Walter Reed, for various reasons stated in the link, can not allow/process the cards.

So it's a useless exercise.

I try to stop those type of emails when I get them if they are invalid, like this. Usually I only know the person it came from...this one had a hundred people on the distribution list. The math alone will tell you how quickly this can get out of hand if everyone who gets it sends it to everyone they know.
