My husband and I will be there for just a few days before heading up to Scotland to visit my SIL, husband, and their twin girls. Any suggestions for good, reasonable places to eat in London, or something that we should not miss seeing?? We will be staying in the Chelsea area, but I expect will be traveling all over the city to see some sights! Thanks!

A few days is barely enough to scratch the surface in London....

When we were there, I think the tours of Buckingham Palace (but I think those are only in August), Kew Gardens, and the Churchill's WWII headquarters were very interesting. Rather than attending a play in the West End, we went to a concert in Saint Martin's-in-the-Fields at Trafalgar Square, preceded by eating at Brown's Restaurant http://www.browns-restaurants.co.uk/ which was quite good and reasonable. You need to get fish and chips, and reserve a few hours for the Tower of London. I'm sure you'll have many options--just don't drive!

So many places....

A good start to get an overview and see a lot of things is to take the double deck open top bus tour - starts at Hard Rock and you can get on and off but just take the whole route first.

Tower of London was one of our faves, hit it first thing in the morning, go straight to the crown jewels then come back for the guided tour - it's fun and very worth the little bit of time.

British Museum is so awesome you could spend a week in there but still worth a quick trip.

An inexpensive and fun lunch is in the crypts at St. Martins in the Field right there beside Trafalgar Square.

We loved Wagamama's and they are all over the place but we ate at oe right there near Kensington Palace - inexpensive and fun.

I think it was Chelsea market that was so fun and lots of places to sample stuff or buy some stuff for a picnic or eat. Be sure to take in some of the street performers. Try a chip buddy? - french fry sandwich (yes it's good!)

If you love Indian food, The Star of India. And I understand the Bombay Brasserie has undergone

extensive reno.

Alhamra for the MOST outstanding Lebanese, but it ain't cheap.

On my place to go in London: Neil's Yard Dairy. A friend of mine used to work there and

says you are assigned an "escort" to walk with you through a giant cheese shop. Anything you want to try, they've got the knife at the ready....I could blissfully eat my way through here and skip restos.
