Gail, As a side note there is a Le Creuset Outlet Store in Woodbury Commons ...>

I purchased several pots there for my son and they are very helpful. Woodbury Commons is located in Central Valley, N. Y. directly off the thruway.

Thanks all for the advice. I live way at the bottom of New Jersey and would have to drive pretty

far to get to an outlet store. I'll try and check out Fine Cooking Dec issue. I've been to Amazon, Ebay, Epinons and other sites. Believe it or not the best price I've found for a new Chasseur 5.5 quart dutch oven is at our own Finer Kitchens for 139.95 free shipping. I also know that a store about 40 minutes from my house has the Le Creuset Dutch Oven for 10.00 cheaper but figure in gas and time. Please make up my mind! Thanks Gail

Gail, our good friends here at Finer Kitchens carries Chausser and promises to meet...

...or beat any price you find!

Hard to pass that up.

Michael

I'm ordering the red chasseur from Finer Kitchens. It's on back order till the 23 they will notify

me by email when it is available. Thanks All! Even my dear sarcastic husband who when I came home from a basket party with a one hundred dollar recipe basket and asked did I know there were people starving in the world agreed that this is a good buy. In my defense the recipe basket sits in a place of honor on my kitchen counter and holds all my tried and true recipes and hopefully will be passed to my daughters. Uh Oh! I may have to buy another basket!

Atta girl!! Sorry about the backorder though, yikes!

The Chasseur stuff has been popular lately.

I know it's kind of late now, but I just bought the pumpkin dutch oven by Staub as W-S, it is

so gorgeous, the handle is the best part, a twisted "stem" of brass. It's 5 quarts and huge to me, so far the two times I've used it have been amazing, the enameling on the inside is really wonderful, better than my Le Creuset ones. The lid is so heavy that it doesn't budge, even with a lot of steam inside, perfect for tangine kind of things!

And, it looks amazing on my pot rack! anyway, check out their web site to see the pot - it's really fun!
