I'm a frequent reader, but infrequent poster. I started cooking in high school. My mom was an adventurous cook for her era and limited resources in a small Iowa town...I remember moussaka, baklava, rosettes, won tons, etc. My dad would eat anything, so my mom could experiment.
She wasn't much of a baker, so if my sisters and I wanted dessert, we'd make it ourselves. I worked my way through our parish cookbook and the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook.
I now have my own family...picky husband and semi-picky children. They do love chocolate, though, so the baking continues! I have developed a reputation as a great cook, and some of the credit goes to the wonderful recipes and advice I get from you all...
Thanks for letting me participate!!!
