I'm loving this recipe book: The Family Meal by Ferran Adria (El Bulli fame)

Click on the link and look at the zoom photos.

The book includes 30 simple three-course meals, with every step for each course shot in photos.

The book also includes inital steps/photos on creating various sauces, such as romesco, pesto, aouli, etc.

And...clever concept, quantities for each and every meal is provided for 2, 6, 20 or 75 servings.

Happily, not a hint of molecular gastronomy...just plain old pots and pans, whisks and a lot of egg yolks and fish.

Agreed...partially...

Agreed, Marilyn. I think the recipes in that book are flawless for sure. The only thing I found disappointing was the photography. It kind of looks like the old "pro" cookbooks from the 80s with the photos.

At the end of the day, though, this book will be a go-to book for a lot of classic recipes and instructions.

Agree with the look of the photos. But I'm also a visual learner and if I'd had

something like this years ago, I'd probably have braved more sauces and fish. Fish always scared me.

Disappointly, I went to make his chimichurri sauce yesterday and it's only in two quantities: 14 C or several gallons. Since the meals are defined for 2, 6, 20 or 75 I thought he would have a smaller amount for the sauces. The same with the teriyaki sauce.

Agreed

I get inspired by stunning photos of the finished dish too.

I guess you will need to make teriyaki for ALL of us, Marilyn smileys/smile.gif
