I'm not a connoisseur of chili, but what say ye about this good looking Tex-Mex Chili recipe?

You're on girl! I think a barrel of Sangria would pair nicely, eh?? Get the flock down here! smileys/wink.gif

I think it looks delicious. I like Pati's show too. She is very engaging, yes?

Many chili purists would cringe at the addition of beans, but I usually add them myself, as I like the flavor and texture they bring.

With black pepper, cayenne, crushed red pepper flakes, fresh jalapeno and chipotle chiles in adobo, it will be hot. That's not a bad thing, but it sounds like plenty of kick.

I like to add a little bit of masa flour mixed into a slurry with a little water (similar to a cornstarch slurry) towards the end of the cooking time. It thickens things up a bit and gives the dish a background taste of corn tortilla.

Let us know how it comes out!

I like the looks of it because it uses ground meat as well as

cubed. I have made chili using just cubed meat (because I saw it on a chili cookoff show probably) and it just didn't seem to have the right consistency for what I like about chili. You could also use cubed pork I think. I love chili made with pork.

I've not seen her show but this sounds delish. She cooks like I do---make room in the pan for
