Hormel Cure 81 hams yesterday because they were buy 1 get 1 and the date on both of them is 12/29/13. Now given the fact that you all blew my mind on expirations dates recently I'm wondering how true I need to be to this date?

 
It's cured, so you surely have some leeway. You could freeze one if you won't be using it

early in the new year.

 
For what it's worth, I would eat it in February. I just don't want to make that decision for you.
