Popping in again. Ang, I make this regularly throughout the summer. Perfect for your plan. If you

don't like curry, maybe it's the brand. Cumin will sure work well but it's a major component in curry. If you really can't take curry, then go with cumin, but a bit less in quantity.

As for the oil...grapeseed or something low in flavour. Peanut.

A little white wine (okay, a lot of white wine) and lots of sunshine. If you can find a good French bread...nothing more. If not, I like to do this salad with pearl or pot barley rather than rice or orzo.

for dessert...a creamy lemon tart.

Not much time left for summer, so enjoy it now.
