I'm too tired to do anything else in the kitchen today so would one of you

Sorry I must be PMSing but it ticks me off the pix doesn't match the recipe.....

It says to slice the two layers in half.
1) Put down a layer
2) Top with lemon curd
3) Put another layer on top
4) Top with raspberry preserves (plus I've never seen raspberry preserves that looked like that - pink and thick?)
5) Put another layer on top
6) Top with lemon curd
7) Put last layer on top
smileys/bigeyes.gif Top with icing & coconut

So let's see the picture looks something like this:
1) Full layer
2) Some sort of pink fluffy thick filling
3) Full layer
4) Some sort of pink fluffy thick filling
5) Full layer
6) Icing & Coconut

And actually, it's probably not PMSing in the normal way but Putting-up w/Men's S*** that is getting me right now. Right this minute might be the new boss I just got in our WONDERFUL NEW RE-ORG plan this week and the hour plus I have spent listening to him and realizing that I now have two bosses and twice as much paperwork to fill out and STILL get my job done. But DH hasn't been much help this week and for that matter neither has DD.

I'm leaving now - going to hit the nearest bar with a good cheap happy hour - may be there until Monday.

But the cake looks good and the recipe sounds good. I may have to try it and figure it out. Actually, think I may pop off a note to Wild Oats before I leave - get some of this aggression out - all those poor non-cooks out there trying to make this cake and looking at the pix trying to figure out why their cake doesn't have two pink fluffy thick layers.......

Don't worry about me - just let loose on DH - feel much better now.

and nothing got broken. Jerk wouldn't stand in line for another 10-15 minutes to get a table after only waiting about 5 minutes or so. Got home and he pushed the wrong button.

Missy, you are so right about this recipe/picture discrepancy

Almost makes me think they've got the wrong photo. I mean, where's the lemon curd? And there's no way you could get a cake that white with whole eggs. Interesting...

This thread is a hoot...I was feeling like CynUpstate and too tired to even post a note....

to say I'd join her WHEN someone took the cake over and in walked DH and asked why I hadn't started removing the hurricane shutters!, after all the other heavy stuff I did ...I was too tired to get ticked off....but muttered under my breath...and along came MCM to do it for me...Thanks MCM, I feel so much better now!
Cyn, the cake, which ever recipe it is still looks good!

Cyn the cake and the recipe both look great so don't be sorry.....

in fact, I think I am going to try to make it today. But it does annoy me when pictures don't match the recipes and I guess I really was in one heck of a mood last night. I cried the 30 minutes from work to the bar where I had to meet DH and discuss the future of their alumni association's game watching parties (which I could care less about and almost NEVER go to - that is my one free 4 hour period a week in the fall and OH how I look forward to it - come on football season!)

Then after he wouldn't stay in line to eat, I cried the 15 minutes home. Came home and plopped down on the air mattress where I have slept the last few nights after sleeping on the couch several more (Restless Leg Syndrome acting up combined with really bad sinus this week that I thought was just allergies but turned out to be a cold that is going around). And then he started in about something and that was it - the RHB came out in me (red headed B****). Feeling some what better this morning but we'll see....

I'll take a pix of the cake and post it when I get it made.

LOL. MCM, I'm right there with you. I was just

sitting here saying the same thing. Bad food/recipe editing or wrong pic or something gone wrong. But you're right, that pic is not the cake in the recipe. Recipe sounds kind of fun though. I would soak the coconut cake layers with cream of coconut and rum syrup though before assembly ; )
