I'm trying to figure out if this is a joke or not: Chicken Noodle Pistachio Pound Cake

Has ANYONE heard of this? More importantly, what kind of mind combines these ingredients? I'm especially intrigued with this line: bake until golden brownish green.

By the way, I found it when looking for an explanation of Cavender's Seasoning, noted in cheezz's oven fried chicken recipe. Conspiracy theorists take note: SPIKE seasoning may be connected to Cavender's. I'll wait for Covert Affairs to run an episode on it.

Chicken Noodle Pistachio Pound Cake

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Note: Must use a mixer or an electric drill with a wide blade attachment.

5 cups of Bisquick

1 box of Jello Instant Pistachio Pudding

1 tsp cinnamon

1 can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup

1/2 Cup of Brown Sugar

1 package of thawed Green Giant frozen spinach

1 package of yeast

Icing: Strain the broth from the chicken noodle soup into a container and mix in the Jello Instant Pistachio Pudding. Stir until creamy. Chill for 45 minutes.

Pound Cake: Combine the spinach, yeast, brown sugar, and Bisquick with the mixer set on "Low" in a large bowl. Gently spoon the noodles and chicken into the batter. Be careful not to break the noodles! Pour the mixture into a bread pan and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Cover the pan with a damp towel and let the batter rise approximately 20 minutes. Place the pan into the preheated oven and bake until golden brownish green.

Pour the icing over the cake as it cools. Serve with small cups of tomato juice

Hard to say--I thought there couldn't be such a thing as pistachio-flavored jello pudding

but I googled and yes there is.

I've used pistachio pudding for "green goop": a mixture of yogurt, whipped topping

pineapple and pistachio pudding.

Okay. I just wrote that and it sounds disgusting and I know it isn't, so maybe the weirdo cake has merit too?

I've had/seen pistachio pudding, but this recipe seems...ick. But like Mar said,

I love my family's "Green Jello" - lime jello, 7-Up, cream cheese, pineapple and whipped cream. It would be good with pistachio pudding as well.

A co-worker made a layered "cake" with the pistachio pudding, with crushed nuts as past of the crust. It was very good.

I also once saw a recipe request in a magazine for a long lost recipe for a fruit salad made with those orange marshmallow-y Circus Peanuts candy, so who knows...LOL

Oh, it's good to know you can use a drill with a wide blade attachment

if your mixer goes on the blink...

This is like an accident you can't look away from...so who's going to be the first to try it????

It was DELICIOUS. Fed it to the cats. They turned colors, climbed the walls, stuck to the ceiling.

It actually wasn't bad with a little blue cheese dressing and chocolate syrup on top. Hope they try it on the next Top Chef. Yum!
