Lovely recipes. But I have to say, does anyone else get their hackles up

when the US Senate spends US tax payer money to dine on pheasant, lobster, duck breast, and sea scallops during a financial disaster still in progress?

How about a little humble pie for a change?

A humble dish somewhere in there would have been nice--I dunno, gourmet johnny cakes or something

in between the expensive ingredients would have made a better statement.

My own wish would be for something that symbolized sustainability--grass-fed bison, tilapia, something organic? I'm dreaming, I know.
