Paul would like to update/improve the SWAP and needs to develop a specific plan as what needs to be done as well as to identify the time and financial resources needed to do it. Some updates are necessary because web requirements/technicalities change with time (security measures, coding, bugs). But while he’s at it, he would like to also improve the site based on members’ needs and wants (this is very important to him – that we are heard!).
Financially we are looking at a min. of a $3,000 for immediate code fixes (same look, feel and functionality) and probably over $6,000 to build a site that can easily be updated (more spent up front will save a lot of time and money). So fundraising will be needed – more on that below. Okay here come questions that we would greatly appreciate you answer. Question 1: What are, in your opinion, the musts for the site. Examples could be:
• Ability to mark all viewed posts as ‘viewed’
• One time sign up/sign in
• Tiered posts and responses
• The ability to send/receive private messages
Question 2: What would you LOVE to have that we don’t have now. Examples could be:
• Easy way to upload a picture from my own computer
As for the fundraising, we will need to put out a request for everyone, if they could, to make a donation. But it would be really wonderful if we could get a few sponsors too (corporations, etc.) Any connections and/or suggestions about how to go about this?
