Insta pot for about 50 bucks — why Should I want one? FYI I don’t like chicke in pressure cooker

Same price from Kohl's - easy return

When I bought my 6 quart several months ago, it was on sale at Kohl's for $99.99. With the 30% discount, a $10 "home" discount and $10 Kohl's Cash, the final price I paid was right around $50. Colleen

C - Maria linked to a 3 Qt..... (That seems high $$). I would wait for Black friday. And

definitely recommend. It has been such a game changer for our home. I purchased my first one 3 years ago. I just love it! Would recommend going to Library and perusing one of the cookbooks for the IP.
Best,
Barb

That's 3 quart--you DON"T want that size. Our kids love theirs. I love my PC

and to me an IP offers SO much more versatility. Do you like chicken in the slow cooker?
Beans, soups, just simmer as something would on the stove. Stew in 35 minutes?

Uh-oh! Missed the 3 quart - Thanks Barb and Charley!

With my contacts in, I "saw" 6 and 8qt in the Amazon description - same as for Kohl's smileys/frown.gif Using IP for soups, stews and stocks, I think that the 6 quart is as small as I would recommend. Colleen

The real point is you can't make it larger but you can cook smaller in a larger pot. With PCs

you also cannot fill beyond a certain mark--like half way. I was amazed that they made one that size.

When I use pressure for things that traditionally take a long time to cook

like soups and stews, it is the perfect size. When I make mashed or rice or pumpkin custard or squash or grits or steel-cut oatmeal or hard boiled eggs for the two of us, it is the perfect size. Colleen

Last night I made red cooked chicken in the IP, and put the chicken in frozen

I had to simmer it a while after the pressure part was done but it was pretty terrific for a meal that cooked while I took a shower and played with the cat...
