Interesting idea - Streusel-Topped Brownies

Sometimes I just pave the top of the batter with whole almonds

They toast and get really crunchy and it looks pretty too. Makes them hard to cut neatly for company though.

 
This makes me think of fudge brownies with german chocolate frosting. . .

on top of the brownies and in a middle layer in the brownies.

I guess I have German Chocolate frosting on the brain!
