Is 3 pages too long?

Currently the forum is set to create a new page at 50 posts. I am thinking that to encourage conversation we could stand a little longer page. Maybe 75? I would like to hear opinions on this; I know that some people on slow connections have issues with long pages downloading slowly. If it were half again as long as it is now, would that still be OK?
