for her ailing stomach. She threw the box away but remembers it had a man on the front with his fist pushing in his stomach. The tablets are chewable, about 1/2" round and grayish. The back of the tablet package says "Digesto Antonetto". They only work for about 1/2 an hour but worked immediately and were just what she needed, so was hoping to find something similar here.

Thanks all!

We have an enormous Italian community here and I'm betting I could find it. Altho probably NY as wel

I translated the page for you

at the link below. Fascinating what Yahoo can do... Heaven only knows I'm not that well versed in Italian ;o) (The little goldfish is quite entertaining while you wait, though!)

'Seems that one of the three main ingredients is calcium carbonate though, just like many of our own antiacids.

American brands that list CaCO3 are Maalox, Mylanta, and Tums )

And if I could figure out what glicina is, that would be the second active ingedient that her little grey tablets has in them!

Curious minds want to know! - I just googled and found that it's an amino acid (stuff that proteins are made up of). I also found a scientific journal online that mentioned that they sometimes use it in aspirin to buffer the acidy effects of the aspirin on the stomach. Maybe their results suggest something that contains both ingredients, like the Italian tablets, but I didn't get that far. 'Seems to have worked for your daughter!
