Is there anything better than the simple Rice Krispie Treat? Really. Everytime I make them

for work, they just get gobbled up. this time I added some mini M&Ms and I always make a double batch but put them in a 9X13 pan and press down firmly so I have nice thick squares ala Ina Garten. The M&Ms melted a bit so I sprinkled a few good ones on top and pressed them in a bit. fun fun fun.

Have you ever tried the Mars bar version? Sooooooo goooood! I can't quite remember all the....

particulars off the top of my head, but you basically add 3 or 4 chopped Mars bars to the marshmallow and butter when melting. You get ooey-gooey chocolatey, marshmallowy, caramelly goodness all in one bite. Decadent!

Here's one of my favourite Rice Krispie rolls

Rice Krispie Chocolate Roll

¾ cup corn syrup
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
4½ cups rice krispies

Filling:
3 tablespoons milk
2/3 cup cocoa
1½ cups icing sugar
1/3 cup butter

Cook sugar, corn syrup and butter, until boiling, over medium heat. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Mix until smooth, then add rice krispies. Spread mixture in lightly buttered cookie sheet (10x15). (I lightly spray or grease pan)

Cook milk and butter just until boiling. Add icing sugar. Mix well. Add cocoa. Mix well. Spread on rice krispie base. Roll up into log (lengthwise). Refrigerate and cut into slices when firm.

I like ht peanut butter version with a thick layer of melted chocolate

poured on top-

Also, I like to make the regular version and insert gummy bears or gumdrops- chopped jellied orange slices are good too.....

Know what's good too? Coco Pebbles and Fruit Loops, but Fruity Pebbles RULES!! and here's a fun

recipe using cheerio's:

In a frying pan, melt a stick of butter and sprinkle some salt, when melted add 2 to 3 cups (maybe more because you don't want excess butter but enough to barely coat the cheerio's) of cheerios, mix all together. Taste's real similar to popcorn. I use to make this for my son Joe when he was real little.

It's been 20 yrs and if I remember right, it was up to a stick of butter. Once in awhile I'd add some salted coctail peanuts. This is a real fun treat for the kids, but I usually ended up eating it the most. Real good smileys/smile.gif

I love to make these into giant "kisses"...Very easy....

Mound the krispies into the shape of a hershey kiss, (Using a funnel helps), wrap with foil, sometimes I have added parchment paper w/ the foil. Depends on how "sticky" the mixture is....

And don't forget to add the white "kiss" paper sticking out of the krispie.

They can be individualized "kisses" or send a generic "fortune"

I have had great fun with these for v-day parties!
