Is there such a thing as a healthy Valentines day?

I'm trying to come up with a plan for Valentines day that doesn't include chocolate cake or sweets, but it's so hard!

I'm thinking fruit platter, vegetable platter with a healthy-ish dip, mixed nuts and maybe popcorn?

We are not going out on a date this year (too much going on these days, and we long for a night spent at home) so we'll have dinner at home. But we need a snack option (or two) because I'm plan ning a movie night so we'll be in snack mode, know what i mean?

Any ideas that I haven't thought of?

Salad with beets cut in the shape of a heart?

Lots of things can be made heart shaped. I'd think in that direction. Sliced strawberries are naturally heart shaped (tho I've never been much of a fan of the not so ripe versions on V-day). Also, love notes in unexpected places are what post-it notes were made for!

I took heart shaped candy molds and made red ice cubes one year for a fancy diet valentine cocktail.

I ike the strawberries idea, dipped in dark choc, maybe? Also red wine, or

cranberry juice cocktails, popcorn with onion powder is a favorite here...

Sounds like a nice night. Enjoy!

Popcorn with nuts and dried cranberries would be a good treat. I love it with chocolate covered rais

raisins, but dried cranberries would be healthier. I made chocolate covered strawberries for bookclub tonight. drizzled them with a bit of white chocolate. instead of dipping in chocolate completely, you could just drizzle a bit of dark and white chocolate on them for just a bit of decadence.
