buffet next weekend. I plan on making two - a garlic hummus and also a red pepper hummus, with a plate of crostini to accompany them. Any suggestions on how to make them more "festive"? TIA!

Some colorful veggies--celery, cucumber, radishes, sliced red and yellow peppers

They all taste good with hummus.

What about layering them in a pretty glass bowl. I have bought one from

Trader Joe's that does that, and it is delish. Maybe do one more hummus and make it three-layers?

A handful of chickpeas scattered over the top. Drizzle of great olive oil. Pine nuts. Chopped herbs.

And/or different kinds of bread for the crostini?

ETA: I realize all my suggestions (except the last one) are complete ripoffs of various varieties of Sabra hummus, but since we ate gallons of the stuff for two years (before I finally learned to make my own), it's kind of been imprinted on my brain. smileys/wink.gif

Yes, this is good and thank you everyone else too! I ended up making sun-dried tomato hummus, and

swirled it with "regular" (lemon/garlic) hummus. Pretty, altho it probably could've been a little more runny to mix better.

Along side of it I had toasted pita chips and "healthy" crackers, very good.
