The plastic thing that is part of the steel blade in the processor is a deep golden yellow thanks to a soup I made today that had 2 T of curry powder in it. I've tried soaking with a paste of Comet. I've tried soaking it in water w/ clorox. Nothing is getting rid of the stain. (I was able to get the stain off the base of the processor using Comet) I've never seen curry powder stain this badly. Has anyone experienced this & been successful getting rid of the stain?

II could be wrong here, but I'm the only one awake, so you have to listen to me!

I can't get rid of the yellow stains from curry, just as it's hard to get rid of the yellowish-red stains from a tomato sauce. If it's plastic that's getting stained I'm sure you could knock yourself out trying to remove them, but why bother? Plastic is porous and curry acts pretty much the same as an organic dye.

Ann, I googled turmeric stain and found a site recommending 3% hydrogen peroxide

directly to the stain. You can buy bottles at the drug store. I remember from Chemistry 101 that peroxide degrades, so it might be worth a trip to buy a fresh bottle.

Good luck. Let us know what works.

Thanks to all! I googled per Marilyn's advice & found several websites

and am going to experiment. If anything works, I'll let you know. Thank you again smileys/smile.gif

That was clever, Junebug. I didn't know what to do either. Here's the text
