First check all the messages in your Inbox that you want to delete, and click on the Delete button. They will get sent to the Trash. Then do the same for your Sent and Saved boxes. Once everything is in the Trash, then click the check box next to all the messages that you want to permanently delete and click on the Delete button. Anything "deleted" from the Trash will get permanently deleted.

Another tip, if I may. When you get to the point in your "trash" file where...
...you want to delete the entire contents, then save some time by clicking on the "sender" box at the top of the page. That will automatically place check marks in all the boxes. Then scroll to the bottom and hit "delete".
Beats checking all the boxes one by one.
