I've found that I can eat blackened salmon while regular grilled salmon makes me gag. However, I've also noticed that after the first few bites it's either too salty and/or so cayenne'd that my tongue goes numb.

Any suggestions on whipping some up? Also, hints on how to make it without setting fire to my hair.

(Don't ask.)

We like this Cowboy spice mix. add a tsp or more of cayenne for more heat

in the link is a recipe for Emeril's Essence, which is a nice blend as well.

2 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp cayenne
1 Tbsp dried oregano
1 Tbsp dried thyme
