Hi Gail- no I don't add sweetener to the whipped cream.
Between the sherbet and the sugar that gets mixed with the strawberries there is enough sweetener, in my opinion. Feel free to add some if you feel you need it. The fact that this dessert is not overly-sweet is appealing to me, especially after a heavy dinner.
