Hi All

Sorry I've been doing more lurking than posting--

work's gone crazy and traveling too much. smileys/frown.gif Wah wah.

Anyway, a dear friend did some work in our house based on a promise that I would make his favorite dessert-

chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache icing.. Not wanting to disappoint, (and not being much of a baker)

I turn to my helpful friends here for suggestions)

In T&T, there are choc cakes, (not many) but thought I'd see the fan faves here.

online CI access, so this recipe isn't offered. Judging by the credits, it looks like it came from the best new recipe book. They are wily smileys/smile.gif

Making them either Sunday or Monday,
I will let you know how they turn out.

Thanks Ang! I was eyeing that recipe up, but wasn't sure if it

made good cupcakes--thanks for letting me know.
Wondering if the Vitamix is too strong for the frosting--
it's the only blender I have......I'll have to play with the settings. smileys/smile.gif

As promised, a report back..

I made the CI-CynNY cupcakes, with a Dorie Greenspan chocolate malt frosting.
Cupcakes: fantastic--nice crumb, good chocolate flavor
Frosting: I thought was ever so slightly gritty, but recipient said they were "better than a bakery" cupcakes.
So all good! Maybe he'll return for more tasks DH is not up to. smileys/smile.gif Thanks everyone!!
