Our local grocery store sells these wonderful cinnamon chip muffins with streusal topping that my boyfriend loves. I've been wanting to attempt to make these at home. I finally found cinnamon chips today. I've been searching online but haven't found too many cinnamon chip muffin recipes. any ideas? thanks!

I just made a batch of these, using KA mini cinnamon chips

and they are very good.
I didn't have a full cup of buttermilk, so to the 1/3 cup I did have, I added a small cup of Fage fat-free plain yogurt.
I was a bit leary about only 1/2 teaspoon each of the baking powder and soda with 2 cups of flour and the oatmeal and chips, but It was no problem. The muffins are light, moist and delish.
Thank you Meryl. I will be packing some of these for my plane rides on Wednesday.

Hi Judy - glad they came out well. Note: the baking powder should be 1/2 Tablespoon, not tsp!

Who knows? Maybe even better! BTW, I'm curious about the KA cinnamon chips - I notice

that the Hershey's chips contain preservatives (and maybe coloring - can't remember), which is why I stay away from them. Are the King Arthur ones devoid of preservatives, coloring, etc?

About KA cinnamon chips.....

when I bought them, I left the package with my daughter and only took a baggie full home. I can't tell you if they have preservatives or not!
The website doesn't give any clues either.
I rarely look in the baking aisle of the supermarket, since I buy most of my supplies from the KA store in VT. I didn't even know that Hershey's made cinnamon chips!
