Some cool mail order item? Cheese? Wine? We've done the gadget and cookbook thing to death. Looking to spend around $30. Any ideas? He lives outside Atlanta...if that helps with ideas. TIA! Therese

How about some smoked paprika? If you order from La Tienda, you can get 3 different kinds--hot smoked, sweet smoked and bittersweet. They literally arrive overnight!

How about a gourmet basket? You can get a lot of...

different, not-too expesive items and group them together with his favorite wine. Cheese, gourmet crackers, gourmet chocolate, mixed nuts, cookies, dried fruit? And maybe an Atlanta Braves cap or poster?

I gave my Dad vanilla pods and tellicherry peppercorns in pretty jars - stuff I knew he wouldn't

splurge on for himself. Also a really nice pepper mill is a great gift too if he doesn't have one.

OH! - I just had another idea, how about a gift certificate for cooking classes. I used to live

in Atlanta. There is a store called Cooks Warehouse on Amsterdam (midtown) that did very interesting cooking classes. See link.
