loosened the skin and put some of the marinade under it. It was very good, but still not very hot. I'm using Frank's hot sauce. I guess you could add some hotter sauce to it to make it hotter. I can't stand the smell of tabasco though. Isn't that weird?

Thanks Melissa...

I was starting to make this recipe and cut the backbone out of the chicken, then I decided to skin it; bad decision, the chicken sort of came apart, so I ended up cutting it up and grilling it. Thanks for the update on this. It is at the top of my to try list.

hi melissa. try adding some dave's insanity sauce or jamaican hellfire and damnation.

both are habanero based and plenty hot, but well-flavored.

I'll try to find one of them. I wonder how hot aji pepper is? I have a jar of aji

pepper paste I picked up because I remember Daisy Martinez recipes using aji peppers.

aji is on a par with cayenne and tabasco. try putting a little on the tip of your tongue to test.
