I just "happened" to read the carb count on my bitter sweet chocolate, ouch, denial.... I know there are recipes for flourless tortes that aren't chocolate but I'm having a hard time finding any. does anyone have recipes?

TIA

I've made this from How to Eat...

I thought it was pretty good, but it was not standout to me, and I have so many other recipes that I want to try that I don't know that I would make it again very soon. (I made it with clementines at Christmas a few years ago.) However, my mom REALLY liked it and asked me for the recipe. Definitely let it sit a day or two - it is more bitter the same day it is made.

Andrea, did you remember if you want with the 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp sugar or the 1 1/4 cups? Maybe that

would have made a difference? Also,do you think sweet navel oranges would have resulted in a less bitter taste?

this looks great!!! I've found that there are so many people now who cannot

tolerate flour (at the Farmer's Market), so I'm anxious to try this one! smileys/smile.gif

oh wow! thank you so much. I thought I had a recipe for an almond & orange tort and...

couldn't find it. I'm going to start at the tope and work my way down. I'll make the first one this saturday and report back. it will be a perfect compliment to the garlic roasted pepper sauce over cheese tortalini. obviously, I can't eat the pasta but my friends can smileys/smile.gif

I "went" with the 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp but probably "want" the 1-1/4 cups!

I do think that using navel oranges would also make it sweeter. And as I said, my mom loved it. I liked it, but it just wasn't as much to my taste - although I do think that had I increased the sugar and not served it initially on the same day, I would have liked it even more.

that's a great link, there are all kinds of interesting recipes in there for all kinds...

of different things. waaay cool!
