ISO: ISO - Gala apple salad with white balsamic and pepper dressing

In Search Of:
with my deadly raw apple allergy(and Heather's too), I am most afraid of slaws in restaurants---so

many choose to add shredded apple these days and it's so hard to see it. I have to ask if it's not clearly described in the menu. I can deal with most any other food to avoid the problem raw foods, but slaws are tricky, and killer! so I avoid slaws as well if I'm unsure. easy enough.

I've always wondered about slaws you buy commercially or even home made

because on the rare times I have purchased a commercial bag of some type of slaw, I usually find something that does not belong in there. That told me that they probably go from one type to the other without washing or thoroughly washing the food processors which the slaws are made in. So even if the mix did not say apple, there could be a small amount hiding in there. I've seen Food Network chefs use the processor for more than one application without cleaning. Usually different veggies they were doing for different recipes.

Oh man, I tried eating a bite of tarte tatin last week, and still got that nasty

oral reaction. Such a bummer. But I can have orange juice now! I am hoping slowly my immune system is calming down (knock wood), all of my food issues are "intolerances" which is so annoying. Even the egg, that causes my throat to close, is an intolerance. Apple slaw sounds so nice! I avoid all slaws for the most part unless I make one myself.

Found it!!!

It was part of Good Food America on Z Living channel. No amounts were given, just ingredients. I jotted them down while watching a re-run of the episode last night.
Gala apple - julienned
Radish - julienned (less amount than apple)
Salted Almonds
Fresh Basil
Fresh Cracked Pepper
Finely Ground Black Pepper - White Balsamic Vinaigrette
Shaved Shepherd's Delight Cheese

Dressing

They apparently made a vinaigrette with a little Dijon, olive oil, finely ground black pepper, and white balsamic. They sort of glossed over that part of the preparation.
